Holy crap on toast, it's been awhile since I posted. But it's been a busy month.

My parents came up for a visit and we took them to Lawrencetown Beach.

This is why I love living in Nova Scotia ... it really is breathtaking out here when the weather's nice.

Hum hum hum ... what else.

We got a canoe for Mr. Ninja's birthday. I have survived through 3 canoe trips already. I have no more to say on the topic.

Oh yes, my sister-in-law came up for a visit about a week after my parents left. Mr. Ninja took her out on the town the first night, and then I took her out the second night. Man, oh man. It was not only the first time in *years* that I had been out pubcrawling...but it was my first night out in Halifax.

Don't look at me like that - I have literally not been able to tear myself away from Mr. Munchkin to go out at night until about 3 months ago. Thank you, KOL. And I didn't have a partner in crime to go out with until last weekend. That's all. It's not like I'm a mutant social deviant who doesn't like alcohol. ;) Fun times. Ran into Mike Holmes from Holmes on Homes in one of the bars. Played pool, got drunk. Was almost scared out of my heterosexuality by the dance section of the Lower Deck pub.

Anyhoo - no hangover the next morning. (Never get hangovers. Begin envying me here.) Did feel a bit odd the next evening though...attributed it to a sneaky and went to bed. Woke up the next morning with a fervent wish for a swift death. Turns out that I got a bad case of food poisoning somewhere along the way. Swollen lymph nodes, dehydration, porcelain throne worship and all. Fortunately, Mr. Ninja and Ms. Ninja-in-law took care of Mr. Munchkin for the day. And while I was wishing for something to sharpen my addis with, so that I could neatly commit seppuku...they let the boy into the stash.

In knit news, have been busy:

Fleece Artist scarf - fun and quick knit. It's a bit scratchy for my taste, though. It's stunning it's going to be presented to my mother-in-law as a belated mother's day present.

Ghetto Malabrigo in colourway Sky - this is a mostly completed hoodie for Mr. Munchkin. Knit in the round until the armhole shaping, it's got a kangaroo pocket that I still have to sew shut on the inside. I'm going to pick up around the armholes and do a bit of ribbing. Then will likely pick up stitches around the neckline for the hoodie part. And Mr. Munchkin's requested a helicopter design on the front, so I'll be embroidering that on afterwards.

Opal sock - enjoying my neighbor's garden. I must say, socks make for excellent gaming knitting.

And do not have a picture of it, but am working on an Odessa in Debbie Bliss silk for my mum. (She requested it for Mother's Day.)

Phew. Now you're all caught up.
