Hmmm.

Blogthings are addictive.

You Are a Warrior Soul

You're a strong person and sometimes seen as intimidating.
You don't give up. You're committed and brave.
Truly adventuresome, you are not afraid of going to battle.
Extremely protective of loved ones, you root for the underdog.

You are picky about details and rigorous in your methods.
You also value honesty and fairness a great deal.
You can be outspoken, intimidating, headstrong, and demanding.
You're a hardliner who demands the best from themselves and others.

Souls you are most compatible with: Old Soul and Peacemaker Soul

And on that note, here's a photo gallery of the weaponry in my house. (Do DPNs count as potentially lethal objects?)

This is all of them. Not all are mine...and there are stories behind each. I guess I'll tell the story of each of them in different blog entries in the future. But for now, let me just say that the whip...was a gag gift from some friends. The rest were deliberate acquisitions. I also have a machete (used to clear a forest path on some property) ... but I can't find it. Is that bad?

Oh, how true.

Thanks to Jaichan for this giggle-inducing entry.

You Are Animal

A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.
You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.
But you sure can beat a good drum.
"Kill! Kill!"

Oh, it's so true.

Here's a picture of me all happy - I finally got past the ribbing on these socks, and was halfway through the short row heel. Please excuse the crap hair day that I was having. Apparently, all matters of my personal appearance were ignored for these bloody ungrateful socks.

Here's a picture of me the next day - when I realised that I'd screwed up the short rowing...and had to frog it all back.

Oh, the tragedy. And yes, I finally got sucked into getting a webcam...welcome me to the age of overexposure.

And she's back in the game, ladies and gents!

Yes, you just can't keep a knitter down.

Despite the presence of stitches still embedded in my fleshy palm...I'm a-knitting away. (Don't worry, I got smart after the crochet incident. There's a big band-aid on the stitches now. I'm kinda dreading taking it off, though. Maybe I'm not as smart as I think I am.)

However, even when I was unable to hold a needle, I still did something wool-related. (I think I may be an addict - the knit withdrawal was so bad that I was close to stuffing a pillowcase with wool and sleeping with it...hoping for some knitting osmosis. Almost. I'm not completely crazy. I'm just aspiring to a little bit of insanity.)

This *was* a shrug that I adapted from the One Skein Wonder pattern, early in my knitting jumpstart phase last year. However. It makes me look like a fracking linebacker. (I should just stay away from bulky yarn.) So, I frogged it with the help of my handy-dandy ball winder, as I only really needed one hand and one heavy forearm to do so.

But I do have a UFO to show off. It's only a little one, though.

This is another jester hat for Mynfel's bun in the oven - due in the winter, so I made it a 3-6 month size. Awaiting pom-pom or tassel instructions. Ghetto malabrigo, natch. (Despite having to hide the overflow of this kind of yarn in my office, I am still getting more Malabrigo - the real stuff - from another co-op. Someone help me.)

ETA: The hats are done!

Life is pretty ugly sometimes.

I have something to show you all.

It's pretty scary.

And it requires a great amount of fortitude and a strong stomach.

Are you ready?

Here it is.

...

...

HA! Bet you thought it was going to be a picture of my hand. That's here.

No knitting today ... although I did try and crochet yesterday. It worked until the yarn got tangled with the stitches. Boy, that was messy.

No more knitting for a spell...

and lots of one handed typing in my future blogging....because of this:

beneath that bandage lies 10 stitches. it ain't pretty ... and the story's quite humiliating. But let's just say that dusting and magnetic knife racks on walls do not mix well with wobbly chairs. the ambulance guy said it was one of the uglier slices (sorry) he'd seen. that'll teach me to try and be a better housekeeper.

sorry about the gruesome mental images. i will now placate you with a few photos.

the manos del uruguay prepster v-neck for mr. munchkin. he loves it...and i'm happy with the way it turned out. picking up the stitches for the neck was a pain, though.

apart from the pom-poms that must stll be made, this jester hat's all done. (ghetto malabrigo, of course.) no more typing...my right hand's starting to cramp. thank goodness for piano lessons - at least i'm used to stretching for a key. (theory lessons sucked ass, though.)

Rosy and Grey...

Is a song by one of the best bands of my teenage years (Lowest of the Low), and it's a good summation of how I've been feeling lately. The sun has been peeking out so infrequently lately that everytime that it appears, the world feels like it's been made anew - beautiful, bright and good. Then the sun goes away (*sigh*) behind yet another cloud...and I'm left to hope for another sunbeam to come my way. Then again, I have my own little stormcloud/sunbeam of my own to brighten my life...

Voila. This is my part of the co-op yarn (ghetto malabrigo, Lynne!). I love how possessive Mr. Munchkin looks - my yarn! (Well, actually - he has taken to grabbing two knitting needles and sticking them into a skein. Then, he makes the skein "walk" like his beloved dancing car.) Below is a picture of everyone else's part of the order.

There was so much yarn that it covered my entire living room floor. Phew. Half the fun was firmly requesting that Joxer the Mighty (our cat) not nest in the wooly goodness.

Still slogging away on the sweaters...and I've started a jester hat for a friend's son. Good naptime knitting - it's in the round. But I think that I'll be making myself some 1337 g33k (see below for chart) wristwarmers afterwards. About time that I starting making myself something pretty!
